Richart de Craon
was the blacksmith who took Alastair in as his apprentice. When Alastair ran away, his parents never knew, and honestly his community was mostly glad to be rid of him, but Richart was actually fond of the boy and saw it as his personal failure that he lost his apprentice. He set out to look for him, but never found him.

Etienne Poisson
When he was very young- only about 4- his older brother was burned at the stake because someone had caught him doing magic. Each member of the family handled it differently, but he was taken in by the idea that he had to hide or perish, so he married a woman who knew about magic but thought it was evil, and let her take the reigns raising their child. Later he came to deeply regret the way he isolated Alastair in an attempt to keep him safe, but by then he was dying and could do nothing about it.
Canon Alastair
Alastair has considered, multiple times, shifting back into his original body and just living like that. He thinks it would be a lot better for Niccolò (which is true- it would be), and likes the scars he used to have. But he's afraid of what it would do to his control of the names, and very afraid that Adra wouldn't find him attractive anymore- or at least not as much as she does now.
Alastair's first language was French, and his second was Latin, which he learned from a very young age as it was considered the scholarly language of the time. Once he became an apprentice, he taught himself English as his third language, because it was considered to be dirty and almost barbaric at the time.

Highschool!Alastair
High school AU Alastair is secretly really mad that Leo did better than him on the Chem titration lab by 2 points.
